LAMM AT LARGE: Iconic sports venues

LAMM AT LARGE: Iconic sports venues

By: David Lamm

I watched hours and hours of last week’s Masters. I can’t tell you how many times I heard Augusta National Golf Club referred to as an iconic sports revenue. And it is.

I got me to thinking about other iconic sports venues. I’m talking about places on every sports fan’s bucket list. I’m talking about places even non-sports know and would like to visit.

My list has two golf courses, Augusta and Pebble Beach.

It has three baseball stadiums, Wrigley Field, Fenway Park and Yankee Stadium.

It has two football venues, Notre Dame Stadium and the Superdome.

It has two basketball arenas, Madison Square Garden and Duke’s Cameron Indoor Arena.

And, finally, the Daytona International Speedway.

Among those places that barely missed out: Indianapolis Speedway and Green Bay’s Lambeau Field.

That’s my list. I’ve been privilege to go to all of them.

What’s your list?
