The NFL Network revealed its Top 100 players this week. I loved it.
I watched each installment with the same excitement by grandsons would watch a new “Star Wars” movie.
I’m smart enough to know there’s no way to accurately name the top 100 players. The list is compiled with a combination of expertise, guesswork, favor-ism and dart throwing.
The top of the list is easier to select than the bottom. Trust me, there’s no way to accurately separate, say, No. 67 from No. 92.
Locally, a sidebar to the show is no Jaguar made the list. Complaints of small-market bias could be heard from Baldwin to Ponte Vedra Beach.
I don’t put from stock in the big market-small market debate in the NFL.
Win and it doesn’t matter in the NFL.
Regardless, name a Jaguar who deserved to be in the top 100? I can’t.
