Gators add a pair of in-state offensive linemen to 2020 recruiting class

This past weekend was a good one for Florida on the recruiting trail. The Gators entered the weekend already ranked in the top-10 for the 2020 recruiting class according to 247sports.com, and added two big, physical offensive linemen to the group.

Here is a look at the two newest commitments to Florida’s 2020 recruiting class.

Offensive Guard Jovens Janvier from Miami

Janvier (6-foot-3, 350 pounds) is a three-star prospect who is considered to be among the top-45 guard prospects in the country. Janvier committed to Florida over offers from Louisville, LSU, Nebraska, Pittsburgh and others.

Any time Florida can land a prospect out of Miami it is a big deal and double that with interior offensive line being a position of need. Janvier is currently the only offensive guard committed to Florida’s 2020 recruiting class.

Offensive Tackle Gerald Mincey from Fort Lauderdale

Mincey (6-foot-5, 324 pounds) is also a three-star prospect who chose Florida over offers from Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, Miami and many others. Like Janvier, anytime you can go to the Fort Lauderdale area and get a prospect, it is a big deal for the Gators.

Mincey is an important get for the Gators also because to date, he is currently the only offensive tackle committed to Florida’s 2020 recruiting class.

With the additions of Janvier and Mincey, the Gators 2020 recruiting class currently sits sixth nationally in the 247sports.com recruiting rankings.
