Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have done it again.
On Sunday, four-star quarterback Carson Beck, who was named Mr. Football in the state of Florida in 2018, pulled what some believe was a surprise and announced his commitment to the Georgia Bulldogs.

Beck (6-foot-4, 226 pounds) led Mandarin High School in Jacksonville to an 8A state title in 2018 and is among the top five pro-style quarterbacks nationally in the class of 2020. Beck was committed to Alabama for over seven months before de-committing from the Crimson Tide back on February 4.
Since his de-commitment from Alabama, Beck had picked up numerous offers from all over the country, including an offer from Georgia on February 27. Beck attended Georgia’s Junior Day festivities in Athens this past weekend and after returning home decided to commitment to the Bulldogs.
There were many who believed Florida was the team to beat for Beck, so his committing to Georgia is extra sweet for the Bulldogs and extra sour for the Gators.
Beck becomes the fifth commitment for Georgia’s 2020 class; all five commitments are rated four or five-stars by 247sports.com.
