Jaguars season preview: Game 3 vs. Tennessee Titans

Jaguars season preview: Game 3 vs. Tennessee Titans

The Jaguars start training camp on July 26. To help pass the time, I’m breaking down all 16 regular-season matchups and offering a prediction in the game.

Game 3: vs. Tennessee

When: Sept. 23 (1 p.m. kickoff)

Last season’s record: 9-7, second in the AFC South, lost to New England in divisional round

Coach: Mike Vrabel, first season

Major additions: CB Malcolm Butler (free agency), RB Dion Lewis (free agency), LB Rashaan Evans (first round), DE Harold Landry (second round) and DT Bennie Logan (free agency)

Major departures: LB Avery Williamson and RB DeMarco Murray

Previous week opponent: vs. Houston

Projected records: Titans 1-1, Jaguars 1-1

The main storyline: The Jaguars look to turn the tide against their AFC South rival after being swept last season.
The pick: Jaguars 26, Titans 9. Jalen Ramsey picks off a pass on Tennessee’s first possession to set the tone. Malik Jackson records two sacks, as the Titans fail to score a touchdown on three trips inside the red zone. Blake Bortles throws touchdowns to Donte Moncrief and Keelan Cole.

The fallout: The Jaguars send a statement to the NFL with wins over New England and Tennessee in consecutive weeks after a surprising upset at the Giants in Week One.
