Brent’s Heisman Ballot
By Bren Beaird
Here is the final Heisman ballot for Brent Beaird of Rivals.com.
Quarterback Colt McCoy of Texas completed 291 of 375 for 3,445 yards with 32 touchdowns and seven interceptions on the season. McCoy, who completed 77% of his passes, is No. 3 in pass efficiency. He leads Texas in rushing with 576 yards and 10 rushing touchdowns.
Quarterback Tim Tebow of Florida completed 174 of 268 for 2,515 yards with 28 touchdowns and two picks. Tebow is No. 5 in passing efficiency. He has run for 564 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Quarterback Sam Bradford of Oklahoma completed 302 of 442 passes for 4,464 yards with 48 touchdowns and six picks. Bradford is No. 1 nationally in passing efficiency completing 68% of his passes. He could be the second straight sophomore to win the award.
The ballots had to be in by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10.
All three are deserving of the award. I thought McCoy had the best overall resume for 12 games. He also led his team in rushing. Tebow was my fourth choice earlier in the season, but he came on strong due to his leadership skills the last month. Bradford had a sensational season and will be a leading candidate next year, if he doesn’t win it this year. It was fun keeping up with the candidates and look forward to doing so again next season.
